Revision of 2024-Dodinga plaque from Sun, 2024-09-08 10:00

A polished black granite plaque commemorating Alfred Russel Wallace's discovery of natural selection in February 1858, was unveiled on the 5th October 2024 at the place he made his great discovery: Dodinga village, Halmahera Island, Moluccas, Indonesia. This was a collaborative project between the Wallace Memorial Fund (UK), the North Moluccan Government, and SeaTrek Saling Adventures (Indonesia).

The QR code at the bottom of the information board near the plaque links to this page, the purpose of which is to provide more details about him and his scientific work.
